Short answer: In everyday Amway-adjacent speech, a “function” usually means a meeting, seminar, rally, or special evening (names like Dream Night or Free Enterprise Day appear in that vocabulary). These gatherings—and any tickets/tools sold around them—are optional Business Support Materials (BSM) / events, not Amway Corp requirements to be a Customer or IBO. No one earns Amway Plan income merely by attending.

FAQ

Q1. What do people mean by a “function”?

A: Colloquially, a function is a scheduled gathering used for training, recognition, product education, or motivation—ranging from small living-room meetings to larger seminars or weekend events. The word is not a special Amway corporate product SKU. Who hosts it matters: Amway Corporation may run official events/training; Approved Providers or individual IBOs may run optional BSM meetings under Rules/QAS constraints. Always ask: Corp vs optional third-party vs unauthorized.

Q2. What is “Dream Night”?

A: Dream Night is a common nickname for a special evening-style meeting some groups use (often recognition / vision / celebration themed). It is not something Amway requires you to buy a ticket for in order to register as a Customer or IBO. Naming and format vary by organizer and market. If someone presents Dream Night as mandatory, that conflicts with Amway’s optional BSM framing (see Q5).

Q3. What is “Free Enterprise Day” (FED)?

A: Free Enterprise Day (sometimes shortened FED) is another event-name that appears in Amway-adjacent education culture—typically a larger daytime program around free-enterprise / entrepreneurship themes. Like Dream Night, treat it as an optional gathering label, not a corporate “you must attend to succeed” rule. Confirm whether a given FED is Amway Corp-hosted, Approved Provider–related, or independent BSM—and read any ticket fine print.

Q4. Are functions / Dream Night / FED the same as Amway Education or Amway+?

A: Not automatically. Amway+ / Amway Education (official app and Corp training) are Amway Corporation channels. A weekend “function” ticket from a private organizer is usually in the BSM / tools bucket. Mixing the labels is a common source of confusion—ask which entity is selling the seat and whether Amway marks are used under authorization.

Q5. Are event tickets or “tools” required?

A: No. Amway does not require purchase of Business Support Materials. Market Rules language (example, Amway Singapore RoC Section 7) states:

While Amway does not require anybody to purchase BSM, ABOs may decide that they can play a useful role in building a profitable business or achieving goals. BSM are entirely optional…

And:

An ABO cannot be burdened or obligated to purchase BSM or placed at any disadvantage by an upline or downline as a result of choosing not to purchase or sell BSM.

Section 7 also discusses tickets to seminars and events as BSM and requires language that no one can guarantee techniques will work—plus that materials are published independently of Amway. Verify the current U.S. Rules of Conduct / QAS on amway.com/rules-of-conduct for your contract.

Q6. Do I earn Amway income by attending a function?

A: No. Buying a seat, watching a stage, or “being in the room” is not Amway product-sales income under the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan. Rules examples also say ABOs shall not receive Amway-style compensation from selling BSM; BSM sales (where allowed) are constrained (e.g., at cost / approved pricing—see market Rule 7).

Q7. Can someone say I must go to Dream Night / FED to join or stay?

A: That pressure conflicts with optional-BSM Rules framing and with restrictions on requiring purchases in connection with registration. If you feel obligated, document it and contact Amway Customer Care / compliance for your market. This site is an IBO site—not Amway Corp.
